Some people look forward to getting out of the house and going to work and socializing, but I would really like to not have to leave my home and not have to deal with people. But all of the “work from home” jobs seem like scans. Are they?

No not really. I too a stay at home mom and have registered freely with survey sites. I am getting invitations regularly to participate in the survey programs and getting some extra cash.

There are very few legitimate work from home opportunities.
Perhaps you’re just in the wrong profession. There are a lot of jobs where you can work by yourself going through forms or databases and as long as you go in, do your work, and do it well, no one really bothers you.
I’ve found that bad bosses and co-workers can sometimes make me hate a job I’d otherwise love.
You need to sit down and think about what it is you don’t like about your current job. Is it just the interaction with people or something else?
