Google adsense searchbars are text boxes and submit buttons that the publisher (me) adds to his website. Google pays the publisher (me) everytime a visitor (you visiting my website) types in a phrase into the text box, and then hits submit; doing this takes you from the webpage to google’s search results (for the phrase you typed).
What I want to do is to (highly) customize the appearance of the submit button.
I also want to pre-fill the text box with a certain phrase. That is to say, I want it so that when you come to my webpage you see the google search bar, but its already got my favorite search in it, and you can erase what I written (if you want).

To clarify, Google will NOT pay you everytime a visitor types in a phrase into the searchbox. Google Adsense for search will only pay you if that person CLICKS on the ads that show up alongside the results. You can have 500 searches per day in your searchbox, but if there are only 10 clicks then you will be paid for the 10 clicks, not the 500 searches.

How do I earn with AdSense for search?
AdSense for search lets you offer your users Google web search directly from your pages. By placing an AdSense for search box on your site, you’ll generate earnings from ad clicks made by users on the search results pages.
You won’t, however, receive revenue from user searches through your AdSense for search box. When users perform searches on your site, but choose not to click on the ads on the search results pages, you will not receive any earnings.

You can customize how the search box looks like, but only limited to colors, length and layout. You are prohibited from altering the search code by pre-populating the search box as you intend.

Can I alter the AdSense for search code?
We understand that it’s important for you to have control over the layout of your webpages, so we currently offer a number of display options for AdSense for search. Any changes to the code other than those available from your publisher account are not allowed.
Under the ‘AdSense Setup’ tab, when generating your AdSense for search code, you may choose to:
Open search results in a new window
Customize the length and layout of the Google search box
Select colors or styles for your AdSense for search results
Again, please note that modification of the AdSense for search code is a violation of the AdSense program policies.
Publishers may not:
Pre-populate the AdSense for search box
Create links to Google AdSense for search results
Frame Google AdSense for search results
Remove or alter the Google logo
