I am curious on the costs of making candles and if I could sell them on e-bay or a flea market.

Depends on the wax, people don’t like breathing in allot of the toxins some waxes give off.
It also depends on how well you present the product, and how well they are made and the scent it gives off.
Candle making can be super fun, be creative and try it if all else fails you can keep the candles.
When you get started have an “open house” invite family, friends etc and introduce everyone to the product, have a couple going tell them the wax and benefits of that wax (look it up and be sure your saying true information they may go home and google it)

They would have to be really neat and rare. Many folks are selling candles locally and on ebay. Shipping can be a problem ($$) when selling candles. The cost can make it less reasonable that its easier to buy them locally and not from you.

  4. if you market it good you could

For crafty things like candles, you should try selling on etsy.com

In my area the candle days are about over. The people that got in on it at the first, probably made a ton of money but as other saw that more and more and more started selling. You go to a craft show now days and all there is to see is candles. So in my area anyway the market is saturated.

Etsy is a really great place to sell anything handmade. I’d try out a small stock first to test the rate at which you sell.
I’m not sure how much it would cost to make a candle, but I’m sure you would have to factor that into your selling price.
